Medartuum does not manufacture any of its own pharmaceuticals but instead adapts the packaging of medicines and the patient information leaflets for the Swedish market. A requirement for introducing products to the Swedish market is a marketing license for every product and every country of origin. A license that is granted by the national pharmaceutical regulatory authority LV (Läkemedelsverket) in Sweden, or by the EMA (European Medicines Agency).

The Pharmaceutical Insurance is based on a voluntary agreement between the pharmaceutical companies in Sweden and it is a safety for patients who have been harmed in some way by their pharmaceuticals. There are various ways to seek compensation if you suffer any injuries but the Pharmaceutical Insurance is the most favourable. This is because it does not require any court intervention and compensates for the damages, regardless of how the damage was caused or if the product used have had a known safety risk.
